A short explanation of “man’s purpose” appears in the Bible. Ecclesiastes 5:18 (NIV) says, “Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him.”

That’s not too complicated, is it; to take pleasure in spending another day alive and able to go about living it? While we have to admit that humans often don’t make that easy for themselves or even everyone else to do, it’s still something to which most of us can attain.
